I’ve always preferred to keep school photos in the rearview—until a hand-me-down box of old prints landed in my lap. Inside were those tiny wallet-sized rectangles, designed to turn a messy kid into a proper adult.

I found myself drawn to the friction between the formal poses and the vibrant, unruly personalities beneath the surface. I wondered about the the ones given away to distant lives, and the ones kept behind. Wallet Sized is an exploration of the inseparable kid that lives within us all, and the hands that carry those stories forward.
